My style of Mandala

A mandala has long been used in Buddhist and Hindu tradition as a source of spirituality and meditation. Most mandalas follow a concentric symmetrical and very detailed pattern.

Carl Jung use the mandala as a view into the unconscious. He believed that it starts from within...

As I start every one of my mandalas, I definitely focus on what is in my heart. I do have some rules. If my hand picks a color, I let that color happen. There are no mistakes, only a pull from my unconscious trying to create something unexpected. I always begin at the midpoint of a circle, but...as is with my mind and life...I am not always in a balanced central emotional place.

Many of my mandalas are off-centered or only randomly geometrical. They're different, but they are completely me and always reflect what is going on within. My mandalas are so different to me that I feel I need to call them by a different name. And there....in that search...was the beginning of circle art.
